Great War Digital have sought to bring you the most complete archive possible of the Trench Maps of the Great War of 1914-1918.
LinesMan will function quite happily on your PC as a versatile Trench Map viewing medium, which allows you to choose which edition/date of map that you wish. However, in order to make the most of the functionality that we have made available, your experience can be enhanced by using LinesMan on one of the many and easily available PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) devices.
These can easily work with GPS (Global Positioning System) to give a real time on screen marker, showing your position on the Trench Map of your choice.

We understand that
there are many customers who may not feel that this kind of equipment
is for them, but we would like to explain quite how easy it can be to
use. The PDA Memory Map version installs automatically from the Memory-Map
menu (after connecting the device to your PC), and the maps are copied
to the PDA from the 'SEND TO PDA' menu option. The PDA screen controls
are very simple indeed to use, and the maps swap from one to the next
as you walk or drive.
We can supply you with a ready to go, combined PDA/GPS unit, with which you can tour the battlefields. It needs only one cigar lighter plug to charge it, and functions separately on batteries while walking the fields. This solution considerably simplifies the interconnection, and is ideal for those who are new to this technology.
